The Level 2 Home Survey Service

The Level 2 Home Survey Service

A RICS Level 2 Home Survey (previously known as a Home Buyer Report), is the mid-level RICS Home Survey that provides a clear and structured assessment of a home’s condition. Conducted by our RICS-qualified surveyor, the Level 2 survey ideal for conventional properties in reasonable condition, such as properties built after 1900 (thought slightly older properties in reasonable condition are also applicable). The report uses a simple traffic light rating system to indicate their severity. The survey also provides basic repair and maintenance advice. In addition we support our findings we photographic evidence to help you understand what defects are present. Walters can also provide you with a market valuation and insurance reinstatement cost should you require this information at a small additional cost.

Yet many buyers choose not to have a survey undertaken, some of which face unexpected repair costs averaging £5,750 (according to RICS 2016) in their first year of ownership. Our detailed property surveys provide you with an in-depth report, identifying potential issues before you commit. Whether you are a first time buyer or you are buying your forever home, the small investment in a survey could potentially save you thousands in unforeseen repairs and give you peace of mind with your property purchase.
